Work groups are starting to form, and we want you to join! If you have a passion for one of these interest-based groups, please reply to the most recent from BCTA email with the word JOIN and look for an invitation to our Slack (an online project-management platform) within the week. Here are the groups: defense, economy, education, environment/energy, health, human rights, voter rights, women in office.
Details have started coming together about International Women’s Day on 3/8. Here is the plan according to www.womensmarch.com:
Anyone, anywhere, can join by making March 8th A Day Without a Woman, in one or all of the following ways:
- Women take the day off, from paid and unpaid labor
- Avoid shopping for one day (with exceptions for small, women- and minority-owned businesses).
- Wear RED in solidarity with A Day Without A Woman
Here, we’ve decided to put a Natural State touch on it by organizing “Arkansas Women: Take a Hike” events. We encourage you to spend the day connecting with nature and practicing self care while telling workplace, economy, and other commitments to take a hike! A variety of events are taking place around Arkansas – or you can even organize your own! We are even working to produce a list of small, women- and minority-owned businesses to help you shop selectively.
Let’s talk about the events coming up between now and then, though… Click for more details.

Keep up the good work!
